Every summer, the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival brings together top jazz talent, from local heroes to international stars in our beautiful wine-country setting. With the generous help of local sponsors, the PEC Jazz Festival has gained a reputation as the true jazz-lover's festival. From classic to cutting edge modern and everything in between, the PEC Jazz Festival has something for every jazz fan.
Our Vision The Prince Edward County Jazz Festival celebrates 25 years of excellence in jazz performance and music education, and is recognized as the premier festival in The County. Building on the accomplishments and talent of those who have gone before, the Jazz Festival has grown from a small annual August festival in Picton to a multi-faceted Incorporated Charitable Organization. With a year-round presence, the PEC Jazz Festival: offers high quality performances throughout the County and beyond; provides diverse opportunities for young musicians to learn and perform with experienced mentors; supports a PEC Jazz Ensemble; and offers live streaming of performances; and lectures, clinics and other promotional and educational initiatives. Supported by committed, competent, and enthusiastic volunteers, sponsors, and musicians, the PEC Jazz Festival continues to stay relevant and contemporary. Because of its reputation, the PEC Jazz Festival has many requests to partner and so guidelines have been developed to ensure partnerships are based on shared values, interests and commitment to common goals. Over the past years, the PEC Jazz Festival has focused on more effective communication with a broader base of supporters and audiences. Our Mission The Prince Edward County Jazz Festival promotes appreciation and public understanding of jazz, and advances musical education for students and young musicians by presenting high quality performances, training and mentoring experiences, awards and clinics in PEC and surrounding areas. |

OPERATIONS COMMITTEE
There are many roles that require attention throughout the year. The Operations Committee prepares not only the August Festival, but also the Jazz Education Program, PEC Jazz Youth Ensemble, and many seasonal concerts in the community throughout the year. A number of the responsibilities might include programming, marketing and promotions, venue liaison, event organization, advertising and publications, and many other roles as the needs arise. If you're interested in finding out how you can contribute to the Festival operations, we would love if you'd reach out to us at [email protected].
AUGUST FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS
During the week of the Festival, the support of many people is needed to ensure the success of all of our events. We rely on volunteers for ticket and merchandise sales, green room support, drivers for our musicians, event setup and tear-down, and a number of errands that inevitably arise.
Volunteering during the festival is a great way to experience the festival more up-close and personally. The people we have behind the scenes are equally as important as the talent on stage. If you want to volunteer during the week of the festival, please contact us at [email protected].
