Prince Edward County Jazz Festival 2006 At the regent Theatre in Picton, and other locations around the County

Prince Edward County Jazz

A festival like no other...

Truly Great Names in Jazz, but in a Very Special Country Setting, Just a Few Hours (and a World) Away from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal — Our 10th Great Year.

Not only do we present jazz stars on stage — top names that you would expect — but we present them in a very special place: The County. You may know Prince Edward County — in which case you have felt its charms — but if you don't, you have to come here to fully appreciate the soft, carefree atmosphere of The County.

Come for the JAZZ and leave relaxed. Browse the shops and roadside markets. Visit our many vineyards and art galleries. Linger in a village bistro, unwind on a sandy beach or in a friendly B&B — you're never far from a panoramic view of Lake Ontario. And visit our satellite events — perhaps while enjoying lakeside breezes — and follow the Jazz Van around the County or simply stay put and let it come to you.

Take in the headline performances in the historic Regent Theatre (for tickets call 613-476-8416 ext. 28). Built in 1922 and with a stage the size of the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, the Regent has seen it all - vaudeville, stage, musical productions and the silver screen. The theatre has been restored and has comfortable seats, air conditioning and a gleaming, neon-lit marquee.

A warning!!!

Rarely do visitors fail to return. Once exposed to the County, you gain no immunity. Come over our bridges or by ferry and you will find yourself in another, slower world, but one in which you will hear the best in Canadian jazz.

Like Guido Basso and Brian Barlow, you may even find your home here. (Guido is the Jazz Festival's Artist-in-Residence and Brian Barlow is our Creative Director)
