Rising Young StarPrince Edward County Jazz Festival 2010 Rising Young Star While there are a multitude of opportunities for aspiring young jazz musicians to perform with their peers at various festivals and schools, opportunities for young players to perform with older more experienced professionals are rare, or nonexistent. The Prince Edward County Jazz Festival is offering a unique opportunity for one talented jazz student to become our 2010 Rising Young Star.
The chosen candidate will perform each evening as a guest with the main stage artists
performing at Picton’s historic Regent Theatre during the 2010 Prince Edward County
Jazz Festival.
The Rising Young Star will also have the opportunity to ‘sit in’ at the after hours jam
sessions following the Regent Theatre concert performances.
The successful candidate will be chosen, in June of 2010, by members of the PEC Jazz Festival Board of Directors and will spend five days at the festival in Prince Edward County.
The Rising Young Star (and guardian in the case of a minor) will be billeted in a private
